How to Backup iPhone Photos

When it comes to backing up iPhone photos, Apple users can figure out all kinds of methods to solve that problem. As every iOS device has a Camera Roll, and the computer (Windows PC and Mac) can read the content in the Camera Roll, so users are able to backup iPhone photos in Camera Roll with ease.

When using a Windows PC, you can backup iPhone photos with following steps:

Step 1. Connect your iPhone to computer and make sure that iTunes doesn't open. The computer will show your device as an external hard disk.

Step 2. Double click the iPhone icon and open it on your computer. You will find a folder called “DCIM”, which contains the files in your Camera Roll.

Step 3. Choose the photos you want to backup and press "Ctrl + C" to copy them and "Ctrl + V" to paste them to your target folder.

When using a Mac, the following tips are for you:

Step 1. Connect your iPhone to your MacBook and launch iPhoto on your Mac. The iPhoto will automatically detect your device. Choose “Import Selected” to backup iPhone photos only.

Step 2. The software will get access to your iPhone Library and you are allowed to select photos to backup.

Step 3. The software will import the photos you have taken with your iPhone onto your MacBook. After the importing, iPhoto will ask you whether you want to delete the original photos or not. It all depends on you.

These tips are easy enough, but here are still other methods to backup iPhone photos. If you are in need of backing up iPhone photos to anywhere you want, you can choose an easy-to-use iTunes alternative to help you. For Windows OS, the Leawo iTransfer is highly recommended. For Mac, maybe you would like to refer to SyncPod for Mac.

Leawo iTransfer is used for transfers among iOS devices, iTunes and PCs. Leawo iTransfer can transfer many files (apps, videos, audios, images, ebooks, ringtones and files in Camera Roll included) with ease, and it won’t erase anything from your iDevice.
